Vibration isolation mass attenuating transmission of the plate flexural wave is analyzed with the force excitation applied on an infinite plate.The effect of attenuation is quantified by vibration isolation degree based on the energy standpoint. The feasibility of approximate formula for vibration isolation degree is verified by a theory analysis.The maximum transmission of the plate flexural waves through the vibration isolation mass is found to occur at the resonance frequencies corresponding to the optimal coupling between the plate flexural waves and the flexural and torsional waves in the vibration isolation mass.The numerical analysis and experimental study show the correctness of the theory analysis.The study provides a theoretical and experimental basis for the vibration isolation mass applying to structure-borne sound propagation control.
