Neopentyl polyol-based fatty acid ester was synthesized with a novel catalytic esterification process. The conversion rate of esterification reached more than 98.5%. The disappearance of hydroxyl absorption peak of ester showed that the esterification has high hydroxyl conversion rate. Basestock of refrigerator oil was prepared via above-mentioned process. The test result indicated that the basestock performance can reach the level of the same type of imported samples.
