Two cases of histologically confirmed true hermaphroditism in children are presented.This anomaly is a rare form of ambiguous genitalia.The lack of secondary sex character development makes it difficult to establish diagnosis in children.It should be emphasized that diagnosis be made prior to the steady establishment of psychologic sex character.Case Ⅰ was a 46-XX-karyotype and case Ⅱ a 47-XYY-karyotype.In young children,the target sex should be decided according to the suitability of the reconstruction of the external genitalia and the resultant male/female physiological function regardless of the patient's karyotype or gonads.
