Landscape ecology has brought to attention of various circles. Author considers that Landscape ecology is a kind of applied ecology， which is based on human ecology and closely related with urban ecology and landscape ecology． Landscape planning and design should be regarded as an ecological project． Landscape ecology studies the relationships between man's life， resource utilization， environment quality and artistic in the space which could be influenced by garden and its adjust ways． The paper has made a discussion on the name， connotation， structure， function and application of landscape architecture.
