Constrained groove pressing (CGP) and groove pressing (GP) are newly developed severe plastic deformation techniques for fabrication of plate-shaped metallic materials without changing their initial dimensions. Their basic principle is that samples are put into the molds with cycle variational teeth. The samples are subjected to repetitive deformation under the pressure function, so that the effective strain is cumulated and the grains of the samples are refined finally. The basic principle of CGP&GP and the influence of processing technology on the microstructure and mechanical properties are introduced.
