The surface of nanometer calcium carbonate powder was modified with resin and stearic acid. IR analysis showed that coated agent had attached to calcium carbonate surface by ionic bond. The TEM photographs showed that the modified calcium carbonate had better disperse ability in cyclohexane. Measurement of sediment volume and contact angle of modified calcium carbonate indicates that the wetability in nonpolar media had been improved.
