Terminal arylacetylenes are important organic intermediates.Aryl substituted polyacetylenes and their derivatives exhibit a lot of novel optical,electric,magnetic properties.The copper-catalyzed 1,3dipolar cycloaddition("click reaction")between alkynes and azides plays an important role in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals,pesticides and materials containing 1,2,3-triazole group.The recent progress in synthesis of terminal arylacetylenes was reviewed.
