Taking two typical old residential areas, one with separate reconstruction and the other without separate reconstruction in Shanghai City as research objects, through the comparison of mixed connection rate of rainwater and sewage sewers and water quality of dry-weather flows between the resi-dential areas, the effects of clearing the rainwater and sewage sewers and separate reconstruction were as-sessed to provide reliable basis for enhancing the control decision level of urban non-point source pollu-tion.
