Reading comprehension is very important for the English learners, but the cultural differences between China and foreign countries greatly affect the readers' correct understanding. The essay tries to analyze the role played by the cultural context in reading comprehension from the perspective of Relevance Theory, and make teachers construct students' cross-cultural context knowlcdge ,which can help them better understand the reading comprehension.
