Analysis was made to the lightning features of substations located in coastal areas with lots of lightning. Introduction was made to three kinds of forms of power supply nets invaded by lightning. Discussion was made on three proof-lines of substation lightning-proof, and lightning-proof for important electric equipment within station such as circuit breakers, transformers, reactors etc, as well as the grounding techniques of substations. Some suggestions were raised for this kind of substation's lightning-proof design.
