Protein C system is one of the most primary anticoagulation system, which plays an important role in the interaction of coagulationanticoagulation reaction. The article reviews protein C system, to provide an overview of the biochemical structures, physiologic functions and genovariations of its constituents, based on the new findings in resent years. It reveals, on the DNA level, the influence of occurrence, development and sequelae of thromboembolic disease, which genetic polymorphisms of protein C system affect on. It is of great significance in the prevention of thromboembolic diseases and individualized treatments.
