The common water quality evaluation method only reflects the pollution intensity and ignores pollution duration and range. Probability method takes account for the three factors and its evaluation results conform more to the practical water quality condition. The three sections' water quality of the Yongjiang river were analyzed by probability method, the results indicated that the water quality of hydrologic station section were better and the other two have 50% pollution frequency and pollution duration are longer.
