The developing baekgroud,concept and system structure for the solar power satellite (SPS) are described in this paper. The main specification will be discussed in detail . The SPS technology is in the frontier of the science and technology development,including advanced technologies of space, energy, power transmission and fundamental sciences on the matter and information . The key tecnologies for building SPS include the dc power generation in space,microwave power transmission, space robot technology, the infrastructure of space launch, assemble and transport.
