The mechanism and the influance factors of concrete corrosion have been described in this review,including physical destruction,chemical attack and biological action.The matters that should be noticed during design,operation and maintenance have also been discussed.To economize on resources and energy and to protect the environment,several new methods to enhance the durability of concrete structure are suggested,in terms of new concrete,new admixtures,new bactericide,new technology of electrochemical removal of chloride and new coatings.
