A series of xanthenedione derivatives were synthesized via the reaction of aromatic aldehydes with 1,3-cyclohexanedione derivatives catalyzed by the supported sodium bisulfate in PEG-400.The reaction time was 1-1.5 h,and the yields ranged from 81.1%to 93.0%.The proposed method was fast,efficient and environmental friendly.The catalyst employed and the reaction medium was low cost and reusable.
