The waterborne UV-curable coatings have become research focus for their advantages in environment-friendly and highly effective. The characteristics of this new UV-curable coatings were briefly introduced. The new synthetic methods and performances characteristics of several important oligomers, and the application characteristics of waterborne photoinitiator and additives were summarized. The application field and research progress of waterborne UV-curable coatings were reviewed. Finally, the development tendency of application and research in this new kind of coatings were analysized.
