水利地理信息系统工程是数字、现代水利的基础设施，是现代水利业务应用和社会公众服务的基础平台，是水利信息化进程的一项标志性工程。主要介绍了江苏省水利地理信息系统的设计目标、系统架构、地理信息采集更新、相关示范软件和标准的编制，以及系统实现的关键技术，可为建设水利地理信息系统提供借鉴参考。

GIS for water resources is the infrastructure of digital and modem water resources services, the base platform for modern water resources business application and public services, so it is the important project in the promotion of the spreading information explosion in water resources industry. In this article, main introduction is conducted on design objectives, system framework, updating of collected geographical information, corresponding demonstration software and standards, as well as technologies for the system implementation of Jiangsu provincial GIS for water resources. It is hoped that the paper can provide reference for the construction of GIS for water resources.
