This paper described the basic principle of strength reduction method and the solution of slope safety factor. The paper, based on example analysis, show the influence of four aspects, i.e. dilatancy angle, tensile strength, grid intensive degree and boundary range on results of FLAC3D strength reduction method, which provided theoretical basis for the selection of strength index in slope stability analysis.
