The non-linear finite element form-finding method was presented for the cable-net, the program was developed sequentially with Matlab language, and the numerical examples were carried out and verified with analytical results. Then, the form-finding experiment was performed for a hyperbolic cable-net, which was built with stainless steel wire rope mounted on the steel rig. The plain size of the test model is 1.8m×1.8m. Appling specified cable tension step-by-step and various grades in sequence with the cable passed through the pulley and suspended specific poise. The equilibrium states were founded with the evolution to the final equilibrium configuration of the cable-net. And the comparison results demonstrate the method is effective and correct.
