A detailed theory of ADPCM is presented firstly,then the ADPCM Codec (code and decode) is designed and achieved with a simply software on DSP.The ADPCM arithmetic is simulated on the DSP Experiment box and in CCS that is the integrated development environment of DSP.The test waveform and data are analysed and explained in detail.The experiment proves that the speech signal dealt with the ADPCM can be compressed and the fine quality can be gained.So it can be used in communication.
