对棉秆的解剖构造、纤维形态、组织比量、基本密度进行了初步研究,结果显示棉秆构造与阔叶散孔材构造很类似,棉秆木质部含量为81.46%,木纤维含量62.22%;棉皮纤维长度1 654 μm,长宽比96,壁腔比0.98;木纤维长度1 023 μm,长宽比52,壁腔比0.5;棉秆各部分基本密度为根部0.353 g·cm~(-3)、地表处0.388 g·cm~(-3)、高40 cm处0.319 g·cm~(-3)、高80 cm处0.272 g·cm~(-3).从测定结果来看,木纤维含量高,纤维长度长、长宽比大、壁腔比小于1,是很好的造纸和纤维工业用材.另外结合我国木材资源紧缺以及材料环保要求的不断提高,为棉秆的综合利用提供科学依据.

Cotton is a very important economical material for textile products. In the cotton production, most cotton stalks are not effectively utilized, even become a source of pollution. Little is known in the properties of cotton stalk. A preliminary research was carried out in the properties of cotton stalk, including anatomic structure, fiber form, tissue measurements, basic density. The results demonstrated that the structure of cotton stalks was similar to that of hardwood diffuse porous wood, with the contents of xylem 81.46%, wood fiber 62.22%. The fiber length of cotton stalk skin was 1 654 μm, the ratio of length to width was 96, ratio of double wall thickness was 0.98;fiber length was 1 023 μm, the ratio of length to width was 52, ratio of double wall thickness to lumen was 0.5. The densities of cotton stalk in different parts were as follows: root 0.353 g·cm~(-3), ground stem 0.388 g·cm~(-3), 40 cm height 0.319 g·cm~(-3), 80 cm height 0.272 g·cm~(-3). The data indicate that cotton stalk has high content of wood fiber, long fiber length, big ratio of length to width, ratio of double wall thickness to lumen small than 1. So it is a very good the lumber in application of papermaking and fiber industry.
