牡丹之乡菏泽书画艺术资源种类繁多，精品荟萃，但在地方旅游事业中的文化品牌作用远没有得到充分的发挥，这在一定程度上制约了该地区旅游事业的进一步发展。在文化旅游日趋兴盛的今天，牡丹之乡应该在旅游产品中打出书画艺术这个招牌，走书画旅游协调发展的创新之路。具体做法包括：转变观念，发展书画旅游产业；开展牡丹之乡专项书画旅游；“以花为媒”，借牡丹文化带动书法旅游发展；利用牡丹之乡深厚的文化底蕴，把书画文化融入人文景观中，实现相得益彰的良好效果；加强宣传力度，提高书法绘画旅游品牌知名度等。
