UV/TiO2 photocatalytic treatment was considered one of the most promising and effective methods of trea- ting persistent organic pollutants due to its simple process, low energy consumption, high mineralization efficiency, easy access and low toxicity of end products such as carbon dioxide, water and inorganic mineral ions. The research progress on photocatalytic oxidation technology and its application in water treatment were reviewed.
