In the embedded video processing platform based on ARM and DSP, video data required to be transmitted from DSP to ARM, so that ARM could transmit the video data to the remote server, The authors proposed a method to resolve the video data communication between ARM and DSP, and introduced the hardware circuit design of Host Port Interface (HPI) which connected ARM and DSP. In the design of the HPI, a practical video data communication protocol based on Linux interrupt handling mechanism was defined and realized, and the video data reliable transmission between ARM and DSP was consequently realized.
