语言是文化的载体,具有深刻的文化内涵。英汉电影片名互译过程中涉及到东西方的生态文化、语言文化、宗教文化、物质文化和社会文化,因此翻译必然受到原语文化与目的语文化的制约。纽马克的交际翻译理论可以用来指导英汉电影片名互译。由于各国在各个文化方面有着独特性,译者需要充分理解原电影片名的文化,并结合目的语文化努力使译名对目的语观众所产生的效果与原片名对原语观众所产生的效果相同。

Language is the carrier of culture with profound cultural connotations.The process of translation between English and Chinese film titles,which deals with ecological culture,language,religious culture,material culture and social culture,is bound to be confined by both the source language culture and the target language culture.Peter Newmark＇ s communicative translation theory can be employed to guide translation of film tides between English and Chinese.Owing to differences between various cultures,translators ought to accurately master cultures of the title in the SL and then try to produce the same effect on the TL readers as is produced by the original on the SL readers by considering cultures in the TL.
