CAI(Computer-Assisted Instruction),a kind of teaching methodology characterized by modern technology,has become a possibility in the application of modem education.CAI in ELT can provide various teaching environments and diverse study patterns which traditional teaching can not achieve.This paper mainly introduces the importance of CAI and discusses its effective use in ELT.As a newly developed technique,CAI is either a challenge or an opportunity for our teachers.If we can grasp this chance properly,our English teaching will surely have a bright future.
