In this paper, we elucidate the differences between breastfeeding and its substitutes from the aspect of digestion and absorption of nutrients. Meanwhile, the differences between α-lactose and β-lactose in digestion and absorption are explained in detail, especially for the biochemical and physiological effect of maltodextrin addition in infant formula milk powder on babies' intellectual development. At last, causes and preventive measures against child obesity are proposed.
