The effects of recycled water on the flotation of a complex Pb/Zn ore are investigated.Two types of heavy metal ion (HMI) absorbents are adopted to evaluate them as a means of mitigating the negative effect of recycled water on flotation. It is found that the flotation selectivity of galena against sphalerite is reduced by the use of recycled water. The flotation selectivity is partially restored to the level obtained with fresh water by the use of HMI absorbent.
