Due to nutrition-rich in pollen, its research and applications have been gained extensive attention. However, the outer cell wall of pollen is an obstacle to limit the development and utilization of its nutrition. In this paper, a variety of methods including mechanical, physical and biological methods for cell disruption of pollen are reviewed. Meanwhile, the future develop-ment trend for cell disruption of pollen is also proposed.
