Congenital greater omentum cyst is rare and only 5 cases were treated in our department over the past 26 years.Six characteristics of the disease which may serve as diagnostic criteria are discussed in detail.Omentum cyst should be differntiated from tuberculous peritonitis and big ovarian cyst by every diagnostic means,such as peritoneal paracentesis and pneumoperitoneography.All the patientsin onr series recovered after operation,the unique treatment for this condition.
