The 9.0-magnitude earthquake in Japan triggered a nuclear leakage in Fukushima nuclear power plant, causing a serious nuclear crisis in Japan, which has significant impacts on the global nuclear power development. Based on a review of the causes of Fukushima nuclear leakage accident, this paper presents an in-depth analysis of the impacts of Japan's nuclear crisis on Japan and the world in terms of technology, politics, policies, social and psychological effects, and the development of the energy sector, and especially elaborates on how the crisis influences China' s power development and energy security. In the hope to enhance awareness of energy security and sustainable development of energy in all walks of life in China, the paper finally proposes some specific policy proposals and measures to ensure the electricity supply security and the sustainable development of energy in China.
