A method was developed for direct enantio-selective hydrolysis of D,L-(3aS,6aR)-1,3-dibenzyl-tetrahydro- 4H-furano[3,4-d]imidazole-2,4(1H)-diketone(Ⅰ) to form the corresponding D-(3aS,6aR)-1,3-dibenzyl-tetrahydro-4H-furano[3,4-d]imidazole-2,4(1H)-diketone(Ⅱ) in the presence of a fungal esterase from fusarium sp.. 45.0% yield with 90.4% e. e.was obtained for 8 h at 45 ℃ in an esterase(activity 500 U·g-1)/BMImBF4(1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate) ionic liquids system.
