In-depth processing of images in oceanographic surveys by way of noise abatement,image enhancement and edge extracting may improve the utilization of the information. In view of the deficiencies and shortcomings in the traditional means and methods,the application of image filtering technique in noise abatement, image enhancement and edge extracting of images is discussed by using the time-frequency domain features obtained from image conversion and the multiple resolution analysis and the results of experiment are presented.
