CuO nanoflakes and ball-like CuO self-assembly from nanoflakes have been prepared hydrothermally at 150℃ for 10 h and 15h respectively,by using methenamine as precipitator.The phases and morphologies of the as-prepared products were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD),scanning electron microscopy (SEM),and transmission electron microscope (TEM).Possible formation mechanisms for ball-like CuO nanostructure self-assembly from nanoflakes were briefly proposed.The catalysis of CuO nanostructures with different morphologies for ammonium perchlorate (AP)decomposition was investigated by thermal analysis.
