多囊卵巢综合征(PCOS)是育龄女性中常见的内分泌紊乱性疾病,主要以胰岛素抵抗和高雄激素血症为主要病理生理改变.PCOS患者中肥胖/代谢综合征的发生率显著高于正常人群.11β-羟类固醇脱氢酶1(11β-HSD1)在体内主要参与皮质酮和皮质醇之间的转换调节.11β-HSD1的表达和(或)活性增加,使局部皮质醇水平增加,影响胰岛素信号的转导,导致胰岛素抵抗和高胰岛素血症的发生.研究发现,11β-HSD1可能参与PCOS的发生、发展.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)is one of the common endocrinal disorders in childbearing women.It is characterized by insulin resistance (IR) and hyperandrogenism.The incidence of obesity/metabolic syndrome in patients with PCOS is significantly higher than normal population.11 β-Hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 ( 11 β-HSD1 ) mainly participates in the regulation of cortisone/cortisol conversion.Increased expression/activity of 11 β-HSD1 upregulates the local cortisol level,influences the insulin signaling transduction and leads to IR and hyperinsulinemia.Studies found that 11 β-HSD1 may be also involved in the development of PCOS.
