The basic principles and processing steps of secondary median filter were introduced, and a specific examples in a work area of the western region was illustrated in this paper. The results shows that this method can effectively remove the resonant interference, more better retain the information of up-going wave and down-going wave of VSP data, improve the follow-up processing quality of VSP data processing, and be more significant to solve practical problems in data processing.
