在隧道软弱岩层中存在具有一定压力的水体会使周边围岩产生变形,因此可通过监测临近掌子面的拱顶位移速率来推测前方是否可能发生突水突泥。具体过程为通过统计已有测量的拱顶下沉速率量与突水突泥的事件发生的相关度,得出一个阈值。然后,根据这个阈值来推测前方是否可能发生突泥突水。石林软岩隧道的应用实例说明此方法具体可行,为超前地质预报提供了一个新的途径。

In soft-rocked tunnels, water will build up pressure which may lead to the deformation of the surrounding rock of the tunnel, as a result of which the possibility of water and mud burst may be predicted by monitoring the displacement rate of the vault near the heading face. The detailed process includes two steps. First, we need to find the relevance of the subsiding rate of the measured vault to the chance of water and mud burst; then, we should figure out a threshold on the basis of which the pos- sibility of water and mud burst ahead may be made out. The practical application of the monitoring technique to the Shilin Tun- nel project proves the feasibility of the method,which provides a new approach for geological predictions.
