This paper discusses causes of learning difficulties for freshmen in grade one ot senior high scnools because of the differences of knowledge presented and methods used. In order to make students adapt to senior high school English learning as soon as possible, this paper offers corresponding countermeasures in terms of stressing teaching methods, strengthening guidance on learning methods and cultivating good learning habits.
