The combined technology of pre-ecological fiber pool and subsurface-flow constructed wetland was used to purify the eutrophic water with high turbidity at Chongming Island of Shanghai. The operation results of the demonstration project show that the effluent TN, TP and COD can respectively reach the Ⅳ , Ⅲ and Ⅳ criteria specified in the Environmental Quality Standards for Surface Water (GB 3838 -2002) , and the turbidity is less than 10 NTU. The operation cost is only 0. 16 yuan/m~3.
