Five pyrazole derivatives were synthesized by the Knoevenagel condensation reaction of Meldrum's acid with substituted-4-formylpyrazole with absolute ethanol as solvent under heating in oil-bath or microwave irradiation. The crystal structure of compound 2a was characterized.
