The varieties and action mechanism of plant growth retardants were briefly reviewed. The influences of plant growth retardants on the growing development and resistance of turf-grass were reviewed in detail. The research direction of applying plant growth retardants on turf-grass was proposed. And the application prospects of plant growth retardants in the lawn were predicted.
