加强民族传统体育文化建设的价值在于“使民族传统体育文化发展更好地服务于社会政治、经济、文化建设”。云南民族传统体育文化具有多样性、活态性、原生态性、民俗性、包容性、群体性等特征，建设与发展工作应注重“文化自觉”意识养成，从营造“文化生境”、建立长效机制、健全管理和参与体制、产业综合化发展、“非遗”申报、教育引导等方面创新和拓展。

The value of strengthening the construction of national traditional sports culture lies in making it better serve for the establishment of social politics, economy and culture. The national traditional sports culture of Ynnnan has its own characteristics, such as diversity, activity, original ecology, folk features, inclusiveness, group nature, and so on. The work should be carried out from these aspects as follows ： the nurturance of cultural conscientious consciousness, the building of cultural habitat, the construction of long effective and sound participation mechanism and the synthetic development of related industry. At the same time, the declaration of intangible cultural heritage, the innovation and expansion of education guide should be actively promoted.
