The crude heme was hydrolysised by animal proteolytic enzyme, in order to improve the purity of the heme. The optimal condition for obtaining the highest degree of hydrolysis of crude heme was 2 of watered volume, 4‰ of enzyme proportion, and 12 h of hydrolysis time.
