In this paper,the author makes a hypothesis that negative transfer from L1(Mandarin Chinese) has an effect on EFL learners' pronunciation of the two English interdentals /θ/ and //.To analyze this hypothesis the author applies OT(the Optimality Theory) to illustrate the way Mandarin Chinese influences the interdental production.
