In this paper,the author makes a hypothesis that negative transfer from L1（Mandarin Chinese） has an effect on EFL learners＇ pronunciation of the two English interdentals /θ/ and //.To analyze this hypothesis the author applies OT（the Optimality Theory） to illustrate the way Mandarin Chinese influences the interdental production.
