A colorimetric method for rapid determination of micro amount of gold in field geological samples was reported in this paper. Aqua regia was used to decompose the sample. Polypropylene filter rod was used as gold-adsorbent and TMK as color reagent, so that the preconcentration and chromatogenic reaction of gold were finished simultaneously. The method has been applied to the determination of micro amount of gold in geological standard reference materials. The results are in agreement with certified values with precision of less than 6% RSD (n=10).
