The power-systems on CAMRY and PRIUS HEV is introduced in this article. The rotor structure, noload magnetic field, temperature performance of rare-earth permanent magnets and motor efficiency map of the two HEVs were analyzed. The main parameters, such as armature reaction inductances of the two permasyn motors, are also calculated and compared.
