The chelated iron liquid redox processes are widely used for its high H_2S removal efficiency, rapid oxidation of H_2S to elemental sulfur, and being environmentally innocuous. The desulphurization mechanism of chelated iron and the ligand chemistry of metal centers binding of aminocarboxylate complexes were introduced. Both research progress and industrial application of the chelated iron processes were summarized, and their existing technology problems and application prospects were analyzed.
