有效的内皮保护可以阻止动脉粥样硬化的发生与进展,氧化应激可能是内皮功能障碍的共同发病机制,该学说的提出使抗氧化内皮保护策略成为目前研究的热点.与传统的抗氧化剂不同,具有抗氧化、抗炎、抗凝等多效性作用的药物如血管紧张素转换酶抑制剂、他汀类以及噻唑烷二酮类药物等能有效防治心血管疾病;具有抗氧化、抗炎等作用的中药近年来受到关注;另外一些新型抗氧化剂如α-硫辛酸等的内皮保护作用已成为当今研究的热点.
