The development history and activities of plasma propulsion technology in France are reviewed.The thruster models are presented,and the current research Status,projects and applications of French hall thruster are indicated.The main application fields of plasma propulsion are the station keeping and the orbit raising of geostationary telecommunication satellites and the transfer of interplanetary vehicles.According to the research and development in France,the suggestions of developing plasma propulsion are given.
