Aiming at the insufficient consciousness of English learning on its naturality, dynamics and social- ity, this paper applies a new learning theory called "community of practice" to analyze the feasibility of the theory in English teaching practice, indicates that this theory can improve students' ability of social learning, authentic learning and natural learning. Combined with the implement of the teaching mode of "community of practice" in English writing, it is proved that this mode can effectively improve students' learning abilities.
